Connie has been a board member since 2013 and served as Vice President from 2018-2021. Connie has been a breast cancer survivor since May of 2012. Just 6 months after her diagnosis, her husband, David, passed away from a 12-year cancer battle. Connie was presented with life’s greatest challenges by undergoing chemotherapy simultaneously, followed by David’s unexpected death Connie continued to work full-time and care for their 2 children. Though she would never wish cancer on anyone, she has received unbelievable blessings because of this journey. Connie is now retired and finds tremendous pleasure in spending her time enjoying family and friends, actively nurturing 3 grandkids, and helping nonprofits.
Having the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for I Have Wings, has provided Connie great fulfillment as she continues to assist other cancer survivors. Cancer affects the whole family circle, and Connie’s life is enriched by sharing in their journey.
