Janet is a native of Northern Kentucky, raised in Crestview Hills, KY. At age 40, a newlywed and mother of 4, a breast cancer diagnosis brought sorrow, tears, painful uncertainty, and emotional tension. It shined a light on reality and the true lack of control we possess over our own mortality.
However, time brings clarity and the realization that breast cancer blessed me with gifts of patience, humility, wisdom and above all, understanding and compassion.
Her cancer diagnosis clearly revealed her life mission, vision, and path on this earth. In 2002, Janet proudly founded I Have Wings Breast Cancer Foundation. Since then, thousands of families have reached out to us for a helping hand, a compassionate ear, and the promise of better days ahead. I Have Wings services bring relief to survivors allowing them to thrive, fight and overcome the financial and emotional stress of a breast cancer diagnosis.
As the IHW Executive Director, most of her time is spent running the foundation. During her spare time in the evenings and weekends are spent with her husband and enjoying our twelve grandchildren! One of Janets favorite quotes “Life is good, and I relish every minute of every day!”
