Lauren is a dedicated community advocate with a passion for helping others. Lauren had the fortune of attending the University of Tennessee to obtain her Bachelors in Child Development. Lauren began her early career as a Child Life Specialist in pediatric healthcare, where she provided developmentally appropriate education, coping, emotional and at times bereavement support for children and their families during healthcare encounters. During this time Lauren had the opportunity to receive her Masters in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change from Northern Kentucky University. Lauren currently serves as a Programs Manager in public health, providing education, resources, and access to services for at-risk populations in the Northern Kentucky region.
Lauren was introduced to and began volunteering with I Have Wings through her late mother-in-law and former board member, Pat Kathman, in 2013. Lauren began serving on the board in honor of Pat in 2019 to continue to contribute to I Have Wings mission of educating and enriching lives emotionally and financially during a breast cancer journey.
